From Kolkata, the Diamond Harbor Road (NH-12) runs about 90 km south to Harwood Point near Kakdwip.

Cross the river by ferry and reach Kachuberia. The ferry travels about 3.5 km across a tributary of the Ganges River (locally known as Hooghly River or Muriganga River) to reach Kachuberia. Small boats also ply from Harwood Point to Kachuberia.

Private cars and buses travel about 32 km to the Gangesagar pilgrimage site.
